James N. Cohn, MD

Dr. James N. Cohn has been committed to offering complete eye care needs and ophthalmologic services to those in Fremont, California — through his office in the Bay Area — for over 30 years.

Dr. Cohn earned Phi Beta Kappa honors at the University of Illinois at Chicago before receiving his medical degree at the prestigious University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine.

Dr. Cohn completed his residency training at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary, and was certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology in 1990. Dr. Cohn has also been selected to be a mentor to the ophthalmology residents at Stanford University.

Dr. Cohn obtained LASIK training in Europe before the procedure became FDA approved in the US. This instruction made it possible for him to be one of the first ophthalmologists in the Bay Area to perform refractive laser surgery, and be one of the few VSP designated panel member LASIK surgeons.

Additionally, Dr. Cohn sees both children and adults for routine eye exams, and he also provides care for those with cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetes.

Anh Tran, OD

Dr. Tran began her practice of optometry, in 2010 after receiving her Doctor of Optometry degree from the State Univerity of New York College of Optometry and a B.S. in Chemistry/Biochemistry from University of California, San Diego.

Dr. Tran has extensive experience and clinical training in ocular pathology management of glaucoma, cataracts, and corneal and retinal disease, as well as in specialty contact fittings, pediatric eye care, emergency eye care, and pre- and post-surgical management of cataract, corneal, and refractive surgery. She received her extensive training at Woodhull Hospital in Brooklyn, NY and the Veterans Affairs Hosptial in Tuscon, Arizona.

She was in private practice for four years in New York City, where she provided multidisciplinary eye care and contact lens specialty services with a focus on high astigmatism and irregular corneas.

Additionally, Dr. Tran has donated her time to international optometric missions, providing eye care in countries such as Oaxaca, Mexico, and Lima, Peru.

She grew up in San Diego, CA and enjoys running, exploring new restaurants and traveling.

Jenny Truong, OD

Dr. Jenny Truong earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at the University of California, Los Angeles. She then received her Doctorate of Optometry degree at the University of California, Berkeley. Her clinical training took place at Veteran Affairs hospitals (V A Pacific Islands & V A San Jose CBOC), the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, as well as a few health clinics (Over60s & Marin Community Clinic). She enjoyed her training at the V A so much she decided to pursue a post-graduate residency in Primary Care & Hospital Based Optometry at the Veteran Affairs Hospital in San Diego, California. Dr. Truong’s residency afforded her the opportunity to diagnosis and co-manage diabetic/vascular eye disease, glaucoma, dry eye, cataracts, and specialty contact lens fittings.

Dr. Truong is an active member of the American Optometric Association, the California Optometric Association, and is a Trustee for the Santa Clara County Optometric Society. When she is not seeing patients, Dr. Truong can be found attending Zumba classes several times a week, taking her dogs to the dog park, trying new restaurants, and spending time with friends and family.
